


Part of the fun of the event is being photographed inside the interactive, immersive art tableaus or with the larger than life murals. Guests are encouraged to dress in creative cocktail attire keeping with the theme, anything with a metallic luster or nautically inspired. New this year is a VIP Sponsor Hour sponsored by O’Reilly Hospitality Management with signature cocktails courtesy of Macadoodles and additional performances from Randall Shreve. Guests of this year’s event, 99x: Gilded Coast Glamour, will enjoy food, drink, and live music from synth-pop duo LUX while entering ten living art tableaus featuring modern takes on the historic interiors of Newport’s radiant mansions. Kensett was an influential member of the Hudson River School and a founder of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Twenty local stylists and artists will transform the Museum into Gilded Age Newport, Rhode Island to raise funds to restore John Frederick Kensett’s Shore Landscape, Newport, an exemplar of “Luminist” painting, in the Museum’s collection since 1949. Began in 2014 with six initial sponsors, this year’s event will be the largest to date with over 40 generous sponsors.
